In four sessions, with the first at Concordia University and the remaining at Dawson College, the Skins Team worked with CEGEP students from the Journeys Program. Journeys is an introduction to CEGEP designed for First Nations, Inuit and Métis studentsand is a one year transition program allows students to complete prerequisites, obtain credits for college and explore new paths in the city to pursue higher education. We gave students a sneak peek at what university life could look like through a brief lab tour before settling and learning how Twine can be a powerful tool for storytelling both as a hobby and professionally.

Over the course of four days, students were tasked with building an interactive narrative. Students caught on quickly and were able to imagine unique stories, ranging from plant care to post-apocalyptic exploration. The second half of the workshops focused on coding and building out the story in Twine to add images and fun text effects.

In addition, Camellia Layachi joined us as a new team member! Camelia sat in on sessions as training, and on the last day had the opportunity to take over some of the teaching.
