Dawson College / AbTeC & The Future Imaginary

In this session, the Skins Team went to Dawson College for two guest lectures on AbTeC and the Future Imaginary. In a class discussing Indigenous Futurisms, we gave a quick rundown on what AbTeC is, starting from our first workshop in 2008 with Kahnawake Survival School, up to now where we deliver multiple kinds of workshops focused on different aspects of game design and computational arts.

At the end of both sessions, we also had our instructors give a mini artist talk, showing the class what we do outside of Skins! As most of our Instructors are working artists themselves, and often in futurisms, we love to give opportunities for our staff to show off a little 😉 Not only does it bring together all the areas we talk about, but it can also inspire students aspiring to be an artist!
