Kauwila Mahi

Daniel Kauwila Mahi is a Hawaiʻi from Kamiloiki, Waimanalo, Oʻahu. He has received an M.A. under Kamakakūokalani School of Hawaiian Knowledge, at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His thesis is Hawaiian Perspectives on Video Games: Oppression, Trauma, Politics andPedagogy. He has worked with street wear brands Paradise Soccer Club
and FITTED Hawaiʻi as a researcher and cultural advisor, working to translate archival documents as well as ancestral stories into clothing
garments. He will be teaching the first Digital Arts elective class in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi at Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Ānuenue a Hawaiian Language Immersion School. He was a Skins 5.0 participant and will be a Skins 6.0 participant.
