Forest Frizzell

Forest has a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He sits on the Board of Directors for Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and plays a very active role as Board Chair for Purple Maiʻa.

He is the CEO for Shifted Energy. We allow electric hot water heaters to consume excess renewable energy and provide grid services.
In 2012, he was invited to give a TEDx Honolulu talk and was selected as one of 13 emerging local leaders to convene in the inaugural class of the Omidyar Fellows program.  He has also received recognition as one of Pacific Business News’ Forty Under 40 Class of 2012, and Hawai‘i Business’ 20 for the Next 20: People to Watch in 2013. He’s curious and a constant learner, who believes strongly in always having one foot in the loʻi. He loves to travel, favorite trips have been to Japan and Aotearoa. He like to spend time in the ocean; spear fishing, canoe paddling, shell hunting, and surfing. Also an avid hiker, most recent was a 3-day trek into Waimanu Valley. Lately he’s been learning to grow kalo, awa, olena and other laʻau plants along with traditional salad bowl vegetables. He tries and kuʻi kalo as often as he can, his favorite variety is eleele makoko.
